June 3, 2004, 8 a.m.-7 p.m. - This event, which is a continuum of the first Town Hall Meeting held in Chicago in 2003, will focus on how to work effectively across racial and ethnic groups and will consider the following:
- What happens during cross-race communications in work situations
- The underlying elements that cause communications to break down
- How we can learn to solve - or avoid - such breakdowns in order to work together productively

The Annual Pan-American Business Expo and Job Fair will be held Friday, June 4, in Fort Myers. The expo, sponsored by the Southwest Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce will feature local and international Hispanic and non-Hispanic businesses as well as area Hispanic media leaders.

The bilingual celebration for all ages will include food, music, dancing, piñata breaking and children's crafts. Presentations in the cultural center east of Willard's will feature topics such as Mexican cooking, Latino youth in the community and Villachuato, Mexico - the city where many immigrants to Marshalltown used to live.

The Gradute School at the University of Missouri-Columbia is proud to present a pilot program for undergraduate students across the nation. The Summer Pre-Graduate Research Experience for Students in the Humanities will offer undergraduate students the opportunity to work full-time on a research project under the direction of a MU faculty member. The dates are June 6 through August 1, 2004. Deadline for applications is February 20, 2004. The program is designed for students sincerely interested in pursuing graduate studies, preferably the Ph.D. degree.

FROM 6th TO 13th JUNE - The 8th edition of the Brazilian Film Festival of Miami reinvents itself opening the doors optimistically, celebrating the art of film. There will be eight days of cultural activities. From the traditional and free outdoor screening to open the festival, this time on Española Way, to the Cristal Lens Awards ceremony, closing the festival with the performance of Olodum. The best films made in Brazil in 2003/2004 will be screened for the first time in the United States.
