My name is Nyesha and I am 23. I have been in my business for 2 months and a half and I make $10,000 a month now for the rest my life. And if you want to find out more information my website is http://nlc1plans.simpleasabc.com. I've been looking for a company like this ever since I was 16 because that's when I had my first child and I was a single parent. Now there are a lot of scams out there but trust me this isn't one. If you sign up before November 30,2004 you can join the company for $35. After this date it will not cost this much again. So hurry and check out and sign up if you want too. There's nothing like working for yourself and you making the decision on how much money you want to earn.

LatinoPundit is right on target. The "American Dream' that so many come to this country to capture is really not "in" America per se but between your ears. It's based on your own ingenuity, courage and persistence. Your desire is already there because you landed here...now all that's needed is an opportunity to be your own boss. Start in your spare time and continue until you can control your own income...Don't spend all of your life building someone else's dream....reply to info@xangowise.com

Manee et al:
I believe I can give you some useful insight when it comes to online job boards, as I have been on both ends of the rope: I used to work for one in my native country, Argentina and I have used online job boards when searching for a job for myself.
Your complaint is mainly about answers. Please, think about it for a minute: do you blame the New York Times (the printed newspaper) if you have sent your resume to 100 ads published there and you have had no response at all? It happens, and you probably don't blame the newspaper because you know that it is not the New York Times fault -the recruiters are the ones that are not giving you feedback.
The same is true with LatPro or with any other job board for that matter. Online job boards are not recruiters per se, but just one more tool that recruiters use to find qualified candidates. Don't shoot the messenger because it delivers bad news...
So, what's the point in using online job boards?
1. Your resume is there, available to recruiters that sometimes are not posting jobs, but browsing resumes looking for some special candidate. Your resume, if you want, is exposed to potential employers easily than in any other way.
2. It is an easier way to apply to jobs. Not the only one, but if I find the same ad in different media, I would no doubt apply online as it is easier and quicker.
3. You can see more ads related to your interest at a glance that with other media. Print ads aren't searchable by keyword and can't be send to you by email. Online ads can.
4. It is one more tool. Not the only one, not a magic one. Just one more.
And then, of all the job boards, why does NSHP choose to work with LatPro?
1. You say that other job boards return way more results. That may be true if you are comparing it with general job boards but those results are probably aimed solely at Hispanic Professionals. If you compare LatPro with any other job board aimed specifically at Hispanics (or even at Diversity in general!) LatPro has far more results. And those results are from recruiters/companies actively seeking Hispanics Professionals.
2. LatPro takes great care to screen out MLM ads, "be rich-be your own boss" ads and many other types of spam ads. Have you ever notice that? They focus on quality over quantity.
Finally, yes it's true, on LatPro you can't choose a city (but you can always put that city in the keyword field) ;) which takes me to the last point, "helpful hints".
In your online search:
- Keep your resume updated, login into your account often. Most of the online job boards display the freshest resumes (or most active accounts)first. On some boards recruiters can also filter resumes so they can ask to see for example "active resumes in the past 3 days".
- Search, search, search. Sometimes recruiters post positions with odd criteria. Don't do just one search, as they say "getting a job is a job in itself".
- Use all the online tools. Almost all online job boards have Job Agents that can send you new job openings according to your search criteria.
In the offline world:
- Keep using all your other tools. Networking, as old as it is, still works and works well. Printed ads are not dead, give them a chance.
- Work on your resume, on your cover letters and ask or read as much a you can to improve your presentation.
Remember: online job boards are just ONE of the tools you have, not the magical solution. And there is no magical solution, except to "work at getting your job".
Sorry for the lenght, but I hope its worthwhile and I aim to help!

newgirl1 Well I've tried with LatPro and other web sites and no luck yet. I'm looking for a job as a translator, document control or administrative assistant in the San Diego area if you can help me I would really appreciate it. Thanks
mannee | April 21, 2004 - 11:56
Sandra, I can't speak for the person who posted the previous post but, when I compare the results for LatPro & the other job sites on the net, well, actually, the is no comparison. The other job sites return WAY more results than Latpro using as close to the same criteria to search. And with Latpro, you can only specify the states, not any particular city.

Dear Sandra,
I was curious to know of other people experiences with Latpro.com. In my case, I bought a subscription for three months and the few jobs that I applied for (I didn't see too many for my profile), I never got any response from employers (or Latpro) whatsoever. Not even an acknowledgement that they received my resume. Needless to say, I didn't pursue my subscription. I understand your commercial relationship with Latpro and is not my intention to bash on them. I'm just stating my honest opinion (I believe that's what a forum is all about) and find out whether my approach to my job search was the correct one. Txs, choriflai

Choriflai, as you may have noticed LatPro is in fact powering our jobs page. And we work with LatPro because we consider it the best option for Hispanics. So far our experience has been positive and they have the expertise needed by their work with other Hispanic Associations as Maes or Alpfa (you can see all of them here)
But, I would like to understand more what you mean by “no responses”…
Are you talking about responses from employers to applications you’ve made?
Or are you talking about LatPro’s customer support? Because another reason for us to choose LatPro is the level of their customer service and I would like to know if you experienced some difficulties there…. we want to give our members the best at all levels!
Please feel to reply to me by email to editor@nshp.org . Txs, Sandra

It would empower people more if they worked toward owning their own business. If you cannot start one b/c of lack of money and investments then get a job and start your business in your spare time.

I'm very interested about working. Currently, I'm not working because the kind of visa that I have it doesn't allow me, but I think if I can find a sponsor I can get the work permit through them. Do you know what is the best way to find somebody for my purpose? Thank you.
