As Chief Fiscal Officer for the State, the Comptroller is responsible for managing and protecting the State pension fund (valued at $154.5 billion as of 3/31/07), auditing the spending practices of all State agencies and local governments, reviewing the New York State and City budgets, reviewing and approving all State contracts, and administering the State Oil Spill Fund. State Program Examiner- Requires a qualifying bachelor’s degree. Assists in the performance audits of all state agencies, institutions and authorities, directed at management effectiveness and efficiency, and program performance. Positions available in Albany and NYC.
Auditor/Examiner of Municipal Affairs - Requires a bachelor’s degree and 24 credit hours in accounting/auditing. Assists in providing a variety of services to counties, towns, villages and school districts of the State. Services include financial and performance audits conducted in accordance with generally accepted government auditing standards, technical assistance, budget reviews, regional training and other consulting services. Positions available throughout the State.
Information Technology Specialist – Requires education and/or experience as detailed on NYS Civil Service examination announcement. Performs full range of IT-related duties depending on assignment. Programming positions are also available. Positions available in Albany and NYC.
Abandoned Property Accounts Auditor- Requires a bachelor’s degree and 24 credit hours in accounting/auditing. Assists in the audit and investigations of banks, insurance companies, utilities, stockbrokers, etc, that may hold unclaimed property to ensure accurate and complete reporting and remittance of unclaimed property. Positions available in NYC.
Student Intern - Must be a matriculated student. Challenging positions in a number of fields that provide excellent experience, flexible schedules and a highly competitive rate of pay. Positions available in Albany and NYC.
