STATISTICAL PROGRAMMING ANALYST
JOB DUTIES:
Extract and analyze data. Design, code, execute, and maintain statistical analysis programs and interpret results. Perform data mining and build predictive models. Employ statistical tools/techniques to discover relationships and identify patterns utilizing various sources of data. Design, code, and execute methodologies and algorithms for the extraction and presentation of data for standard and ad hoc reporting. SAS programming. Hire level based on experience.
Job Requirements
REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
4-year degree in statistics or biostatistics,
OR
4 year degree in a related field with at least nine semester hours in statistical courses plus 3 years professional SAS programming or at least 4 years other professional statistical analysis programming experience OR
Masters degree in statistics or biostatistics,
OR
MS degree in a related field with at least 9 semester hours in statistical courses plus 2 years professional SAS programming or at least 3 years other professional statistical analysis programming experience.
Work Experience:
Academic and/or professional data analysis experience REQUIRED and preferably in the health industry.
Prefer SAS Enterprise Miner experience
1 - 3 years professional statistical practices/programming experience
Experience with statistical software – UNIX desired as well as relational Database/SQL, DB2
Knowledge/Skill:
Ability to perform complex research studies, including all methods of procedures for collection, sampling, maintenance, analysis, and presentation of information.
Knowledge and understanding of statistical principles and practices.
Working knowledge of PC’s and statistical analysis computer programming.
Strong analytical, organizational and written/verbal communication skills.
Basic databases management skills.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Ability to assimilate new and unfamiliar skills in order to become increasingly proficient in analyzing Medicare data.
