1. Responsible for the development and implementation of the company's Master Scheduling, and Production Planning by interfacing with customers (Internal and External), functional peer group managers, and senior management.
2. Develops, implements, or utilize existing ERP system to ensure proper material planning and optimal inventory positions for customer programs.
3. Works with Program forecast and/or product specification to establish a master schedule to maximize output of established priorities. Coordinates activities concerning planning, scheduling, material acquisition, and inventory planning during program start-up and regular production.
4. Approves quantities, schedules, and assists with BOM structure to ensure timely and complete ordering, receipt and issuance of production material requirements
5. Provide daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly status reports that identify performance per program guidelines as well as identifying, communicating, and resolving critical path items.
6. Interfaces with purchasing to expedite problem parts and to reschedule material deliveries that will result in excess inventory.
7. Interfaces with Production/Operations to ensure that capacity and loading are optimal.
8. Interfaces with Program Management regarding performance to plan.
9. Conducts special studies, investigations and analyses relating to the introduction of new processes and tools targeted toward overall department improvement.
10. Ability to make clear and effective presentations of complex issues to diverse audiences.

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a related field (planning, business, engineering, production control, etc.). May substitute equivalent experience in the field. Typical minimum experience is six years with a bachelor’s degree of four years with a master’s. Knowledge of planning, scheduling, budgeting and performance measurement systems and their application to both research and production environments. Computer skills for desk top and planning applications. Possesses strong organizational skills. Demonstrates complete understanding and application of planning concepts and principles to production or research tasks. Possesses excellent interpersonal skills as well as written and verbal communication abilities. Able to comfortably interface with task leaders, managers and personnel from other company support organizations. Ability to develop effective presentation formats with persuasive content. Analytical skills required for developing efficient systems and methods to identify and plan tasks. Able to work extended hours as needed.
