Extensive experience in design, deployment, and management of all aspects of network Infrastructure to provide a high level of network stability and availability. Experience in designing enterprise LAN architecture from the ground up. Responsibilities include equipment configuration, IP address management, segmentation, ACL administration, network provisioning, log correlation and review for problem isolation. Proactive performance monitoring and trending. Proven experience in management of switch/router software and remote upgrades. Develop and maintain network documentation. Experience using TDR/OTDR for certification and troubleshooting purposes. Proven ability to implement all aspects of network Infrastructure to include: patch panels, cable (copper & fiber), and cable termination. Experience with Wireless (WLAN, 802.11) management and technologies. Demonstrated ability to trouble shoot advanced networking issues from layers 1 through 7 in reference to the OSI model. Experience in packet analysis using industry standard tools. Candidate should possess proven experience implementing cutting edge technologies in a large enterprise environment.
Job Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree and six or more years experience. Thorough understanding of the following network technologies TCP/IP, ICMP,VRRP, Ether Channel, LACP, 802.1x, 802.3, HSRP, VLAN, IGRP, OSPF, RIP, NAT, routing, DHCP. Experience with network monitoring and security software. Perimeter security, Intrusion detection and prevention. Ability to understand, communicate and apply new concepts quickly. Must be able to work independently or on a team and to provide solutions to a range of difficult problems. Must be able to work extended hours as required. Good interpersonal skills. Both written and verbal communication abilities that enable effective interface with inter-organizational staff and outside customers. Ability to deliver effective technical presentations. Provide recommendations to senior staff regarding opportunities to improve security and education of user community to ensure current defense against internal and external issues. Documentation of systems and structures is required.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Network certifications. Alternative building to building data connectivity media such as: laser, radio, serial, and fiber. WAN connectivity experience.
