DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: #5197

This position is for General Atomics Photonics Division in San Diego. As an Imagery Analyst the position will provide research and analysis services concentrating on image analysis from a research and development data collection system. The tasks will involve data collection on a variety of targets, providing means to identify and prioritize targets, support field activities and rapidly disseminate actionable intelligence. The candidate will be required to write system operation procedures and have an understanding of imaging systems to assist in assembling the system in the field. At least 3-5 years of operational experience is preferred and general knowledge of the operational community is required. Strong interpersonal communications and the willingness to travel internationally is also required. Additional reponsibilities will include researching equipment and components using the internet and printed information to find items from basic parameter information, ordering parts and operating supplies to include placing, tracking, receiving, inventorying equipment and supplies and installing and configuring computers from scratch including add on cards, and the loading of drivers and operating systems. Position will also assemble and configure rack mountable computers and control equipment to the required specifications including torque, weight and labeling and operationally test individual components and complete systems. Developing system wide standard operating procedures for startup/shutdown, normal and emergency operations and interfacing with engineers involved with the system's design is required.

Job Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Associate's degree or equivalent. May substitute equivalent experience in the field. Typical minimum experience is three years with an understanding of computer operation, operating systems and installing software applications. Good communication and organizational skills and proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel and internet search engines essential. Three to five years experience in image analysis is highly desirable. Travel out of CONUS required and the ability to obtain a security clearance will be required. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Associates degree or higher in Electronics or Optical technology is desirable or Technical Military schools background with experience assembling computer and optical systems is preferred. Familiarity with image collection systems and Computer assembly is also a plus.
