Safety and Environmental Coordinator

Job Description

SUMMARY: Manage and implement a comprehensive factory process to ensure a proactive approach to risk management, loss prevention, and environmental compliance.

• Manage tasks to comply with environmental government regulations and corporate requirements.
• Communicate the requirements of safety and environmental programs and practices in accordance with governmental, industry, and Company standards.
• Provide Training to factory personnel and management on environmental compliance and awareness, cost saving activities and hazardous materials.
• Serves as a liaison to employees, supervisors, and managers to address daily safety initiatives; coaches and counsels managers and supervisors on proper interpretation of plant safety policies and procedures.

Job Requirements

• Bilingual Spanish/English. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing in both languages.
• Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA regulations.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, presentation and facilitation skills.
• Two to four years experience in safety management and/or environmental coordinator, preferably in manufacturing industry.
• Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to partner and communicate with all levels of the organization.
• Must have the ability to exercise considerable judgment and discretion.
• Bachelor’s degree in related field highly preferred.
• Solid computer experience to include proficiency with Microsoft Office.
