Industrial Engineer

Job Description

SUMMARY: Studies process capabilities to recommend operating standards for weight control and equipment operating setting, designs experiments to improve processes; directly responsible for the implementation and managing of SPC (Statistical Process Control).

• Uses six sigma and lean disciplines to drive continuous improvement projects, lead teams, coach, and mentor factory personnel.

• Provides Six Sigma Yellow Belt and Lean Manufacturing training to plant personnel.

• Acts as a liaison between factory and corporate R&D on new product launches. Assess new product processes and equipment capabilities to ensure successful start ups for new products.

• Develops management systems, establishes work measurement programs, and performs line workload observations to develop standards for labor and materials utilization.

• Works hand in hand with functional department representatives to create task teams and leads brainstorming to identify areas of improvement; proposes and implement continuous improvements initiatives.

Job Requirements

The successful candidate must have a BS in the field of Industrial Engineering or related field. Two to five years of industrial engineering experience in the manufacturing field. He or she must be Bilingual in English and Spanish, and must possess the ability to effectively present information to groups in written and oral form. The candidate should have solid computer experience with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, as well as experience and training utilizing industrial engineering concepts such as Lean, 5S, visual controls. The successful candidate must be self-motivated, quick learner, critical thinker, and with strong initiative.
