Maintenance Manager
Job Description
• Directs and oversees the preventative maintenance programs to attain target production operating efficiencies, while working in cooperation with other departments
• Conducts special studies as assigned or self-initiated to improve departmental services, production efficiencies and satisfy internal and external requirements.
• Oversees, reviews, and modifies PM programs as needed to improve equipment efficiencies and determine labor standards. Uses latest industry philosophies such as TPM to optimize labor usage and promote process ownership.
• Oversees parts purchases, MRO inventories of parts, and supplies. Establishes control and processes for MRO inventories. Aggressively reduces maintenance spend by using alternative parts, modifying PM programs, and identifying root causes for parts wear.
• Oversees factory energy and utility conservation efforts, while working closely with the Safety and Environmental Department, to insure compliance with city, state, and federal environmental regulations.
• Controls cost through effective budget planning and management and an aggressive approach to maintenance. Analyzes causes of variances between actual and budgeted expenses.
• Aggressively promotes safety and housekeeping initiatives by engaging employees in the process and promoting ownership.
Job Requirements
• BS or equiv. technical exp.7-10 yrs managerial maintenance experience
• Min. 5 yrs experience managing large high-volume food processing plants.
• Experience with computer based Maintenance Management Systems
• Understanding of budgeting and manufacturing cost accounting
• Comprehensive knowledge of mechanical, electrical, electronics, pneumatic, hydraulic, HVAC, waste water systems, boiler systems, and their maintenance
• Training and experience in ammonia refrigeration and freezing systems
• Basic knowledge of building construction and maintenance
• Understanding of, and experience with, USDA, OSHA, EPA, and FDA, regulations and compliance
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
