Airframe Process Engineer

Job Description

The preferred candidate will provide Airframe Process Engineering expertise at Sikorsky’s helicopter Major Assembly manufacturing facility in Troy, AL. Responsibilities span from the design/development phase to the manufacturing/test phase. During the preliminary and detail design activity, the Airframe Process Engineer (PE) will evaluate the fuselage components for producibility attributes prior to design release. The candidate will also be responsible for creating manufacturing/tooling plans and generating process planning for airframe details, assemblies and installations. In the manufacturing phase the candidate will provide technical liaison support to Manufacturing Operations during aircraft assembly. Responsibilities also include developing PE statements of work and estimating schedules and budgets required to complete the statement of work.

Job Requirements

BS Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or Equivalent amount of pertinent experience.

Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience required. Candidate must have working knowledge of Sheet Metal and Composite component planning and fabrication, geometric tolerances, along with Aircraft Assembly and ability to decipher airframe drawings. Experience with the following systems preferred: CATIA, Solumina, Enovia, Impact II and SAP.
