Configuration Management Engineer

Job Description

The Configuration Management engineer is responsible for the systematic review and release of engineering product definition data and documents. Specific areas of responsibility/oversight include:

Examine various program requirements for aircraft configuration and manufacturing process flow and provide guidance for Bill of Material (BOM) structure, including parent/child relationships, product/unit effectivity, and structuring of BOM to support manufacturing.
Manage options configuration matrix, including exclusion and dependencies and planned option usage. Set-up BOM to reflect unit specific use of options contained in the option matrix.
Participate in technical review of proposed design changes and provide feedback to design and system engineering personnel.
Review engineering documentation to ensure compliance with company procedures and various customer SOW requirements for documentation and change control.

Support Functional and Physical Configuration Audit activities.

Job Requirements

Experience in Material Requirements Planning (MRP)/production control; familiarity with hardware configuration management, including creation, control and revision of Bill of Material structure.

Experience with DOD, Commercial (FAA) and industry standards for configuration management is preferred. General familiarity with aircraft and/or helicopter systems is preferred.

This position requires the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and proficiency with MS Office Products.
