Nalco has an opening for a Director, Risk Management in our Finance Group located in Naperville, IL. The Director, Risk Management will primarily be responsible for the identification and evaluation of risk exposures affecting Nalco’s global operations. Advises on risk strategy and manages those for which insurance is deemed the best resolution. Leads Enterprise Risk Evaluation process across Nalco.

Other Responsibilities include:
Plans and implements a global risk management and insurance program designed to provide the highest degree of protection to personnel and property, commensurate with maximizing corporate profits and long term cost stability.
Responsible for the identification, analysis, recommendation and, upon approval, implementation of risk management policies and procedures designed to reduce or manage risk for Nalco Holding Company including joint ventures, partnerships and affiliates. Responsible for coordination and communication of Nalco’s global insurance program with Nalco’s non-US Financial Managers.
Responsible for the insurance inspection of company facilities on a worldwide basis to evaluate the need for fire protection improvements, changes, and/or revisions to present insurance coverage. Supports and recommends safety and loss prevention programs in conjunction with Corporate Safety, Health and Environment to improve safety and reduce the risk and cost of risk of property, casualty, workers’ compensation, and other areas of concern to risk management.

The minimum qualifications the candidate will have include:
Bachelor of Science in Finance or Business; MBA preferred
Ten years of experience in insurance and risk management, ideally in an international, corporate setting
Proven ability to network effectively, across functions within the Company, and with the risk management professional community
