Job Description

The Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight (OFHEO) is seeking an experienced Examiner to work in our Office of Examinations.

The ideal candidate to fill this Principal Examination Specialist position should have demonstrated hands-on experience in the design and/or implementation of relevant analytic, financial, econometric, or statistical models. He/she should also possess a Master's degree or PH.D. in a relevant discipline (e.g. finance, economics, mathematics, statistics, computer science, financial engineering, or computational finance), or equivalent employment experience with at least six (6) years experience in the use of economic theory and econometrics, or other quantitative technology, of which 3 years included experience in the field of financial engineering or financial institution regulation.

The candidate selected for this position will exhibit the ability to interpret, analyze and assess the quantity of model risk and evaluate the quality of model risk management concerning information technology and/or internal controls by prioritizing examinations or reviews based on a business's risk attributes as determined by risk evaluation tools, methodologies and practices. In addition the applicant should be able to present risk based review or examination conclusions, findings and recommendations in written and oral form.

It was established as an independent entity within the Department of Housing and Urban Development by the Federal Housing Enterprises Financial Safety and Soundness Act of 1992 (12 U.S.C. 4501 et seq.).
