Mobile C.A.R.E. Foundation is a non-profit organization that provides free health care to children with asthma via mobile medical clinics, the Asthma Vans. A job opening is available for a full- or part-time nurse who can work with a team, including a physician and clinical assistant/driver, in an innovative environment to provide asthma care to underserved families. NHLBI guidelines provide the foundation for the model of care. Conducting patient history interviews and providing family and patient education are major components of this position.

Duties include:
Assess respiratory status of patients
Obtain detailed patient history
Provide patient and family asthma education
Instruct patients and families on medication and spacer utilization
Perform allergy skin tests
Perform spirometry (lung function) tests
Communicate with families, physicians, school personnel and community agencies
Refer to community agencies, when appropriate
Assess needs of mobile clinics, including supplies
Participate in planning and patient review meetings
Provide case management support
Other duties as necessary

Work hours are generally Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. We offer competitive wages and benefits.
