Job Description

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Preferably Associates in Accounting, Finance or Human Resources
Skills:
Intermediate PC and analytical skills, prefer strong Excel skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Willingness to learn the payroll software reporting tool using ReportSmith.
Must have the ability to work effectively in a team environment
Must be Employee/Customer focused and deadline oriented.
Willingness to learn and research Tax questions.
Minimum knowledge of Tax Laws & basic Payroll Tax Forms.
Self Motivated individual with excellent time management and organizational skills.
Willingness to work effectively and independently in a very busy work environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Job Functions:
Calculate the pay for new hires, terminations and situations requiring adjustments to normal pay and deductions.
Assist in the calculation & administration of Leaves.
Calculate and prepare manual checks & Stop Payments ensuring compliance with current federal, state and local tax regulations.
Communicating daily with employees.
Research Overpayments
Reporting and reconciling answers to employees’ inquiries regarding payroll.
Maintain employee master database information such as rates, W-4 exemptions, state and federal tax information.
Assist in the transmittal of the Semi-Monthly Payroll.
Process Basic Gross-Ups.
Cross check personal information in Lawson & ADP ensuring completeness and accuracy.
Data Entry & Filing.
Coding Invoices.
Other Functions That May Be Required : Knowledge of ADP PCPW, ADP Reportsmith, Basic SOX Knowledge, Microsoft Excel , 10 Key Adding Machine, Work with Manager on Projects as needed.
Willingness to cross train within the Payroll / Finance team.
