Materials Manager
Job Description
Develops practical and innovative ways to identify and meet goals. Is responsible for work that is less defined in
scope and has the understanding and experience to execute business objectives. This role has the ability to
effect short-term and some long-term business goals.
* Provide on-site support to the logistics manager.
* Ownership for all aspects of warehousing and material management including fulfillment, transactional quality,
inventory accuracy, management of the outsourced warehouse management company, productivity, and freight
forwarding.
* Manage all aspects of warehouse operations, including site services, implementing necessary upgrades, and a
responsibility to evaluate annual budgets.
* Ensure operational excellence through all phases of material movement and storage.
* Responsible for inventory, operational targets including the month end and quarter close processes for
inventory.
* Manage all materials fulfillment metrics including timely hardware roll dates, kit quality, and overtime/unapplied
time.
* Meet customer schedules effectively through advanced planning and create ability to expedite shipments as
required to meet deadlines.
* Own configuration control and all documentation for hardware swaps.
* Manage expediting of hardware shipping and delivery of vendor repair material in order to meet service center
schedules.
* Maintain the highest level of integrity and ethics in all dealings with internal customers and outside suppliers.
* Work with customers externally and internally to identify new opportunities to improve our current processes as
well as design and implement progressive management processes and systems based on Lean and Six Sigma
for control and replenishment of materials.
Job Requirements
*Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or high school diploma/GED with at least 4 years of
experience in a materials management or operations position).
*At least 3 additional years of experience in a materials management, operations, inventory control, or logistics
role.

* Six Sigma training is preferred.
* Strong analytical and influencing skills.
* Proven project management skills with the ability to work across functional boundaries and all levels of
management.
* Problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
* Prior experience in repetitive manufacturing operations is preferred.
* Knowledge of basic.
* Lean manufacturing techniques.
* Ability to effectively communicate with production, engineering, customer service, sales, and external
customers.
* Strong oral and written communication skills.
* Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
