Job Description

Silverton Bank, headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, is a leading national correspondent bank chartered specifically to serve the needs of community financial institutions across the United States. We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer for our Atlanta office.

Description
Under general supervision, formulates and defines system scope and objectives. Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form or desired results. Prepares detailed specifications from which programs will be written. Designs, codes, unit tests, debugs, and documents all of those programs. Most be highly competent in all phases of a formal SDLC. Provides guidance to other Software Engineers. Attends design reviews and code reviews providing feedback. At times, will lead work projects or team projects.

Major Responsibilities:

• Take ownership of support issues for high-visibility production applications
• Complete coding based on technical specifications, within company procedures, guidelines and coding standards
• Create technical specifications based on business requirements and functional specifications from which programs will be written
• Unit test code to ensure product quality and to minimize defects
• Acquire and maintain in-depth knowledge of software systems for which projects are assigned
• Acquire and maintain technical knowledge and skill in standard programming languages used by the company
• Coordinate with quality assurance engineers to maintain quality code and programs
• Adhere to coding and documentation standards. Adhere to the Software Development Life Cycle
• May serve as a project lead for more complex projects.
• Plan, prepare, test and attend quarterly disaster recovery tests.

Job Requirements

Requirements
Education: Completion of a bachelor’s degree program
Experience: Minimum 5 years relevant work experience; Delphi required, C# highly preferred.
Skills/Knowledge:
• Solid to expert Delphi knowledge
• Solid C# knowledge highly preferred
• Perl knowledge, Linux scripting, and/or ECO a plus
• Knowledge of object oriented design and development principles required; UML a plus
• Solid knowledge of SQL Server programming and data access
• Solid knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
• Requires strong written and verbal communication skills
