Dancing and lively music will help welcome in the Heritage Museum's newest exhibit Saturday, showcasing the area's Hispanic culture. Museum officials will hold the premiere this Saturday from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. It will feature performances by Dance Gallery students, Mary Peredez and her students and a mariachi band. The event is free to the public.

In developing the display, which consists of memorabilia donated by area residents, Schrecengost said she wanted to bring out the beautifully romantic aspect of the culture, seen through its customs and music.

"We'll have lots of bright colors and sounds," she said. "Their (Hispanic culture's) music is so unique and beautiful. Even if you don't speak Spanish, if you sit down and listen to the music, you feel the meaning more than understanding the words."

The Heritage Museum is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays. Admission is $2 for adults and $1 for children and senior citizens.
