New
immigrants getting more jobs
A study from the Center for Labor Market Studies
at Northeastern University in Boston, found that from
the beginning of 2001 through the first four months of
2004, the number of new immigrants who found work in the
U.S. was 2.06 million, while the number of native-born
and longer-term immigrant workers declined by more than
1.3 million.

This year, central Pennsylvanians who are black, Latino,

Baca: Burger King Corporation announced the appointment
of Polly Baca to the company's Diversity Action Council
(DAC). Ms. Baca, a former Colorado State Senator,
is the Executive Director of the Latin American Research
and Service Agency, a non-profit organization created
in 1964 to address the disparity existing between
the Latino community and the mainstream community.
- Mario
J. Molina: Who
won the 1995 Nobel Prize in chemistry, has joined
the faculty at the University of California, San Diego,
as a professor in the Dept. of Chemistry and in Center
for Atmospheric Sciences at the Scripps Institute
of Oceanography.
