NSHP-Los Angeles Chapter Holds First Networking Meeting
On Friday, October 28th, 2005 the first NSHP-LA Chapter meeting was held at Tamayo's Restaurant in East LA. The event was a great success, bringing together Hispanic professionals from diverse fields including medicine, law, government, education and architecture. If you're in the L.A. area, be sure to make plans to attend the next meeting in January 2006.

Hispanic women keep on track to top jobs
Hispanic women still find themselves lagging behind their white counterparts in the corner office, but that's changing as the number of Hispanic consumers grows and companies try to keep pace by elevating more Latinos to management positions, according to the California research firm HispanTelligence.

Catalyst (http://www.catalyst.org) works with businesses and the professions to build inclusive environments and expand opportunities for women at work. This associate will participate in Catalyst's research stream on Women of Color. The research team is currently conducting a multi-phase study on the experiences of women of color in professional services organizations - Accounting Firms, Law Firms, and Financial Services Organizations. The Women of Color research stream will also be designing and conducting research on the issues of women of color in other settings. Applicants must experience or a very strong interest in Women of Color research. Quantitative/SPSS experience is preferred.

Family Counselor - Wheaton, Maryland, United States
Progressive Life Center, Inc. is seeking a motivated and self-directed interventionist to provide counseling, case management and crisis intervention services to identified at-risk children and families referred to the program. Maintain an active caseload of up to nine families and provide weekly in-home, face-to face intervention to families. Develop treatment programs with families and work closely with families on identified treatment goals to minimize the risk of out-of-home placement of children. Coordinate effective community linkages for families and maintain a high volume of accurate, timely and quality client documentation.
