Legal immigrants, neither citizens nor fully assimilated, sometimes feel caught in the middle of the movement for immigration reform as they work to achieve their dreams and become a productive part of America.

Calderón declared winner, but opponent may demand a recount
An official tally of votes showed that the conservative candidate, Felipe Calderón, had won a narrow victory in Mexico's presidential election. But his leftist opponent says he will demand a recount in court.

Hispanic group training volunteers for voter drive
The Georgia Association of Latino Elected Officials hosted volunteers from across the state for a voter registration training session. The session was part of "Democracy Summer," a nationwide effort by unions, Hispanic activists and religious groups trying to convert the marches and protests over immigration legislation into political power.

Melanoma in Hispanics More Likely To Be Diagnosed at a Later Stage
Black and Hispanic patients in Florida's Miami-Dade County are more likely than white patients to have a more advanced stage of melanoma at the time of diagnosis of the disease, according to a report published in the June issue of the Archives of Dermatology.

H-E-B, the largest and most dynamic grocery chain in the Southwest, is looking for an experienced bilingual (Spanish) Human Resources professional to join our team. Responsibilities include: Overseeing recruiting functions; investigating employee issues and violations of policies; and partnering with operational leadership to identify needs in employee development and training. Bachelor's in Human Resources or related field (MBA preferred) and 5-8 years of experience in a strategic human resources management role are desired.

Sr. Corporate Trust Administrator, Worldwide Security Services - Houston, TX, United States
As a Senior Corporate Trust Administrator for JPMorgan Chase, you will be responsible for processing and monitoring the daily movement of funds for various CBOs/CLOs (Collateralized Bond Obligations/Collateralized Loan Obligations). Other duties include: processing daily security transactions for Collateral Managers; reconciling daily cash flow and loan transactions for assigned CBOs/CLOs; and assisting with monthly reports, periodic payments and deal closings.

Programmer - Bentonville, Arkansas, United States
This entry-level position with Wal-Mart is designed to educate and prepare individuals to take on the responsibility of a Programmer. Incumbents will participate in an eight-week rotation in one of the divisional support areas (Field Support, Unix Operations, Global Communication Services or EDI-Retail Link) and spend one week in rotation at a Wal-Mart Store, Sam's Club or Distribution Center. At the completion of the support and Store/Club/DC rotations, incumbents will then be placed onto a development team where, under the direct supervision of more senior programmers, they will code, test and debug simple programs.
