Competitive Disadvantage: Immigration Policy and Skilled Workers
Is the lack of visas and green cards for skilled workers threatening American competitiveness? An NSHP member argues the case for accepting any skilled immigrant worker with a legitimate job offer from a US employer. Latinos enlisting in record numbers While a majority of Latinos believe that US troops in Iraq should come home as soon as possible, according to Pew Hispanic Center research, enlistment of Latinos has steadily risen in the past decade. Poll: Bush losing Hispanic support Hispanic voters, many of whom responded favorably to President Bush's 2004 campaign appeals emphasizing patriotism, family and religious values in Spanish-language media, are turning away from the administration on immigration. Breast Cancer Awareness Among Hispanics The Coalition of Hispanic Women Against Cancer is working to raise awareness about breast cancer in the Hispanic community through education, culturally sensitive screening and mobile mammography.
