NSHP Announces 2007 Career Fair Series
After the success of our latest Career Fair in Houston, NSHP is happy
to announce five new job fair events in cities across the US. Based on
your feedback and suggestions, we’re planning bigger and better
events in 2007 to take place in Dallas, Chicago, New York, Washington

Executives Hard to Find
Employers are aggressively seeking bilingual and bicultural professionals
to fill executive level positions, but recruiters say the pool of candidates
remains small as Hispanics aren't earning postgraduate degrees in high
enough numbers.

Postal Service plans to increase hiring of Hispanic workers
The U.S. Postal Service has launched a new national initiative designed
to recruit more Hispanic workers into the postal system as the baby
boomer civilian-employee population retires.

Hispanic Community Health Study to Begin in Four Cities
The National Institute of Health recently announced the most ambitious
long-term health study of the Hispanic population in the United States.
The study will focus on those who identify themselves as Hispanics or
Latinos, but will emphasize Mexican Americans, Puerto Ricans, Cuban
Americans, and Central/South Americans.

Working for AIG International Companies, the underwriter is responsible
for marketing specialty lines of insurance in the Latin American marketplace.
In addition to underwriting accounts, he or she would manage existing
producer relationships while building new networks of distribution,
all while traveling regularly to Latin America. Of utmost importance
are the candidate's language skills with required fluency in Spanish
and English. Fluency in Portuguese highly desired.

& Touche, and IBM.
- Kim Porter has been appointed as Fox Sports en Español's
first-ever director of research. Porter joins the network from Nielsen
Media Research Hispanic Services, where as senior account executive
she was responsible for Hispanic market research and sales to Spanish-language
broadcasters and agencies.
