Season's Greetings from NSHPDear Friends and Members,
Since the holidays are always a special time to reflect and share the joys of the season, we would like to take a moment to look back on all that NSHP has accomplished this year and share some of our plans for the future with you, our members.
A Look Back at 2007Nationwide Job Fair Series
Perhaps the most exciting news of 2007 was the success of our job fairs. These 5 national career events brought together over 201 companies with more than 3,150 Hispanic professionals.Companies such as Merrill Lynch, Cisco Systems, Citigroup, Discovery communications, Ebay, Inc., and JPMorgan Chase are among the many top-ranked corporations recruiting at these events to find multilingual and multicultural talent for their organizations.
These events marked the start of new careers for many attendees, so we are especially proud of this accomplishment.
New Faces
NSHP is growing! We had an amazing year in 2007 as thousands of new members joined our organization, bringing our membership roster to over 17,500 Hispanic professionals. We are stronger together, and this means we are poised to accomplish even greater things in 2008.To keep up with our continuous growth, we’ve made an addition to the NSHP team. Saini Le, NSHP’s new Events/Membership Coordinator, will be spearheading membership development, assisting with the formation of local committees and organizing our events to make sure they are the best they can be. We’re happy to have her on board for the very busy year that lies ahead.
Exciting Plans for 2008As we make our way into the New Year, we look forward to meeting even more of you online, or at our diversity job fairs and local networking events! Here’s a sneak peek at some of our upcoming plans:
More Local Committees and Networking Events
In 2008, we’ll be establishing even more local committees in cities across the country so you will not only have access to NSHP online, but you’ll have a voice and Hispanic connections in your own community. Local committees in San Diego, Charlotte, Houston and Dallas/Ft. Worth are all in the works. If you’d like to become involved in a local committee in your area, please click here.We plan to host numerous cocktail networking events in various locations across the country, giving Hispanic professionals the opportunity to create both business and personal relationships.
NSHP’s First Networking Event in South Florida
On January 23, 2008, we will be hosting our very first networking event with the local South Florida Chapter of NSHP. This event will celebrate NSHP's commitment to the Hispanic community and give local members the opportunity to meet in a fun and casual environment. Click here to learn moreNSHP Web Site Upgrade
