Bone Marrow Recruitment Drive for the Hispanic Community
Every year, approximately 40,000 children and adults are afflicted with fatal diseases such as leukemia and aplastic anemia. Many of these deaths can be prevented with a bone marrow transplant. Donors from the Brazilian, Hispanic, African-American, and other minority communities are especially needed since the probability of finding a donor in the same ethnic group is 1 in 20,000.

Lack of Diversity in the Financial Planning Industry
According to 2002 data collected by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards (CFP), only 5% of Certified Financial Planners responding identified themselves as nonwhite, with 1.03% identifying as Hispanic. These findings stress the need for efforts to encourage diversity, such as mentoring programs.
