The 2007 Viva Oklahoma Hispanic Chamber Expo, sponsored by the Greater Oklahoma City Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. July 28 at the State Fairgrounds Transportation Building in Oklahoma City. The Expo, a Centennial event, is the largest Hispanic event in Oklahoma and is expected to attract more than 12,000 attendees and 160 local businesses.
Leaders
- Roberto Suro, the Director of the Pew Hispanic Center, has accepted an appointment from the University of Southern California as a professor at the Annenberg School for Communication, and will be leaving for Los Angeles in mid-August.
He will continue to do research and writing on Hispanics and immigration, but in his own words, "This new job offers an opportunity to return to my first profession, journalism, at a time when it is facing extraordinary challenges. I am looking forward to teaching, writing and doing research on the rapid changes underway in the news media and on the technology of communications."
