Chicago Members - Join us for the NSHP Job Fair
As most of you have probably heard by now, our Chicago Bilingual Professional Job Fair is right around the corner. Chicago, the second city in our 2007 job fairs series, will host top recruiters who are actively hiring bilingual and Hispanic professionals. Mark your Calendar for Thursday, March 22nd, 2007 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Navy Pier (Lakeview Terrace). The cities to follow will be New York, Washington DC, and San Diego.

Hispanic students perform better in colleges with larger Hispanic community
According to a study headed by a professor at the University of Florida’s College of Education Hispanic students at community colleges with large Hispanic populations are more likely to earn higher grades and complete their courses. The researchers also found that first-generation immigrants – students born in Spanish-speaking countries – tended to do better in school than students born in the U.S. to immigrant parents.

Medico de Familia's New Website
The Spanish-language health monthly “Medico de Familia” launched its website in order to offer online users the same unique health editorial being delivered to over 20,000 Hispanic doctors’ offices and waiting rooms throughout the country.

After our first official meeting in Houston, TX on February 6th, 2007 the NSHP Houston Local Committee was founded. With the participation of a talented group of Hispanic Professionals, the Houston Local Committee will offer local NSHP members networking and career development opportunities.

"Our goal is to give back to the Hispanic community" said Steven Jungman, President of the NSHP Houston Local Committee and Division Director for ChaseSource, a minority-owned, business solutions firm specializing in Recruiting, Human Resources Consulting, and Recruitment Process Outsourcing.
