Latina & “Maybelline Opportunities Through Education Scholarship Contest”

Essay Topic: Tell us about a compelling personal experience, such as: your family, why or how do you want to help the Latino community, an obstacle you’ve overcome or what defines a Latina.

Eligibility: Entrants must be a legal resident of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia, currently
enrolled full-time (and in good standing) in the 11th or 12th grade at a public or state-accredited private or
parochial school.

Deadline: Essays must be postmarked by December 15, 2007 and received by December 31, 2007.

How to Enter:

1. Print out this form and print information in blue or black pen. Have your parent or legal guardian sign it if
you are under the age of 18 or considered a minor in your state of residence.

2. Include an official high school transcript. We are looking for students with at least a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0
scale (or an equivalent grade on any other grading scale).

3. Include a print-out of your five-hundred 500-words, typed, double-spaced essay.

4. Mail the whole package to: Latina & “Maybelline Opportunities through Education Scholarship
Contest.”, P.O. Box 1858 New York, NY 10101. We cannot accept FedEx, UPS or DHL deliveries.

JUDGING: Ten (10) Semi-Finalists (the "Semi-Finalists") will be selected by a panel of Latina staff members on or about January 1, 2008 from all eligible entries received by the dates specified above.

WINNER NOTIFICATION: Potential Winners will be notified by Sponsors either by the telephone number or e-mail address provided on his/her Official Entry Form.

PRIZES: Five (5) Winners will each receive a $10,000 Educational Scholarship (Scholarship administered by Maybelline New York) plus a three (3) day/ two (2) night trip for two (2) to New York, NY where each winner and their companion will attend a special breakfast honoring the scholarship winners (“Event”); tentatively scheduled to take place the first week of March 2008 (the "Trip"), at an approximate retail value ("ARV") of Two Thousand Dollars (US $2,000.00) per Winner.
