New York, NY – April 26, 2004 - Hispanics in Information Technology and Telecommunications (HITTglobal) is pleased to announce its Third Annual Legislative Breakfast in New York City on May 7, 2004 at New York University's Kimmel Center for University Life, 60 Washington Square South, New York, NY in the Rosenthal Pavilion 10th Floor.

Top government officials and technology leaders will discuss public policy initiatives that affect our industry and our community, in particular, 4.5 million Latinos in the New York tri-state area. Also, we will have a discussion that will focus on the current state of Hispanics in Technology and our future on Outsourcing, Broadband and the Digital Divide.

George Hulse Vice President of Healthfirst, will serve as the Honorary Legislative Breakfast Chair. “ I am honored to be at the helm of this event to help position the issues that are important to HITTglobal, improving opportunities for Latinos in Technology. I look forward to driving the attention of our participants to focus on the needs of our Latino and Caribbean communities in current Information Technology markets.”

Last year, US Senator Charles Schumer (D-NY) addressed the breakfast by stating; “Organizations like HITTglobal are the future and the fabric of the Hispanic Community. He also commended HITT for being proactive and taking ownership of some of the issues that affect our community.”

Ronald Herbas, President of HITT New York, stated; “November 2, 2004 is going to change everything! – The Hispanic community needs to be informed on the real issues that will affect their lives whether they like it or not. Major decisions on Globalization, Technology and funding are going to be made from the top. The Legislative breakfast is a chance for Hispanics to speak their mind and let both Government and corporate America know that we mean business.”

“The issues that will be discussed at this event will affect all Latinos, we need to let our legislators understand that the Latino community is growing stronger and our needs must be addressed. However, we must first bring our issues of the community, job opportunities and healthcare, forward so they can understand what is important to us.” said Jose Marquez, National Executive Director/CEO of HITTglobal

Participants will have an opportunity to meet government leaders, which influence legislation, to express their views on national and state policies. Also, they will have the opportunity to network with other business owners from around the New York tri-state area, participate on one-on one meetings with decision makers from corporations who are proactive and interested in doing business with Hispanic Technology companies, professional and entrepreneurs.
