Make a difference! MHA, an industry specific MBA
Did you know that a fifth of Spanish-speaking Latinos do not seek medical attention due to language barriers and less than 9% of the Hispanic labor force work in the hospital industry?
You can make a difference with a leadership role in the organization, financing, marketing, planning and management of healthcare services. A master's degree in health administration can provide the knowledge and skills you need. Ranked in the top 5 health administration programs by U.S. News & World Report, VCU's Master of Health Administration program is an "industry specific" MBA program - which means we provide rigorous business and management training while teaching about the uniqueness of the healthcare and nonprofit sectors. Our students receive:
* A core curriculum of business management coursework with healthcare content throughout, rather than just a few elective courses specific to healthcare, as is typical in MBA programs; and
* The opportunity to apply healthcare focused knowledge immediately, recognizing that healthcare services are unique, for the treatment of persons often in a most difficult situation in their lives.
MHA students participate in a 12-month paid administrative residency, an opportunity to be mentored by leading health care executives in major healthcare delivery organizations around the nation. The Program maintains a job placement rate of 100% in the health administration industry.
