Now in its 5th year, the Portfolio Management Academy is an engaging and compelling experience for those who attend. The Academy is designed to give you an insight into the process of portfolio construction from the perspective of a professional money manager. By the end of the Academy you will be equipped with a thorough understanding of the qualitative and quantitative tools used to achieve the investment objectives of your company/ clients.

The Academy is specifically designed to ensure that you develop practical skills and knowledge that will be immediately applicable upon return to your job. Each of the ten days will involve six hours of instruction per day with reading assignments to be completed on most evenings. Formal lectures will be combined with readings, case studies, group exercises, video footage and guest presentations. Plus, computer-based portfolio simulation software is used to give you a hands-on experience of running an investment portfolio.

This is an intermediate level course. You must be familiar with the basic principles of portfolio management and feel comfortable using spreadsheets.

The Academy will benefit anyone wishing to deepen their appreciation of investment philosophy while simultaneously being exposed to the disciplines required to improve portfolio performance and control downside risk, including; Portfolio Managers, Investment Managers, Fund Managers, Private Bankers, Asset Managers, Corporate Financiers, Plan Sponsors, Treasury Staff, Research Analysts, Fund Trustees, Investment Advisors
