Project GATEWAY responds to shortages of qualified teachers in the Dallas area
Project GATEWAY is a No Child Left Behind grant sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education that seeks to respond to shortages of well-qualified and well-trained teachers in Bilingual Education and Mathematics in the Dallas area. A collaborative between Texas Woman’s University and the Dallas Independent School District, Project GATEWAY provides scholarships to eligible professionals interested in entering the teaching field.
Project GATEWAY is a grant for those who:
- Are degreed professionals wishing to become teachers for the first time.
- Want to become Mathematics or Bilingual teachers.
- Wish to serve at the Dallas Independent School District.
- Are U.S. citizens or permanent residents.
What Project GATEWAY does for you:
- $5,000 toward a Master of Arts in Teaching and teacher certification.
- Provides an opportunity for a mentored internship with the Dallas ISD (upon approval from the District).
- Gives access to professional development opportunities.
